It’s My Life
She may be rock royalty, but Stephanie Bongiovi has her own East End style.
HIDDEN IN THE CORNER of an East Hampton parking lot, popular hangout The Blue Parrot finally reopened last summer with the help of a few famous fans (reportedly, Renée Zellweger, Ron Perelman and Jon Bon Jovi all invested in the joint). Helping to make the place a family business is 17-year-old Stephanie Bongiovi, now serving up the local Tex-Mex fare to hungry patrons. One part hostess, one part model and one part high school student, she’s also the oldest of rocker Jon Bon Jovi’s four kids with his high school sweetheart, Dorothea Hurley. She might not be old enough to indulge in her employer’s killer Dirty Bird margarita, but she took a break from her shift to share a few other indulgences with us.

Where do you spend most of your time when you’re out in the Hamptons?
I spend a good portion of my day at the beach—either Georgica, which is a little quieter, or Main, which is closer.
List the top five places we’re most likely to find you.
The beach, The Parrot, my friends’ houses, my room or wandering around town waiting for a movie to start—not particularly in that order.
What’s your favorite thing on the menu at The Blue Parrot?
At the end of my shift, nothing hits the spot like a chicken quesadilla.
Does dad have an influence on your music tastes?
I’ve always loved The Beatles; my dad had me singing to their music when I was a little kid. I even have their old vinyl records, which I still play.
What do the Bongiovi’s do together as a family activity?
Every Tuesday night, we watch Deadliest Catch on the Discovery Channel.
You’re the oldest of four. Are there any sibling rivalries?
We all get along for the most part, but we always have some disagreements here and there.
