My baby daughter just left home to-day!! We left her at Dublin airport this morning on her way to Korea for a year We had a very sad trip home to Cork this morning with her boyfriend of over 2 years.!!!! He was soooooo sad..... & so was she....... We will not hear from her until sometime tomorrow as she will not arrive at her destination until then. Now we have no one left at home Our eldest daughter is in Australia & looks like she may not be back for another year I'll be ok when I hear from her that she arrived safely, but until then I'll worry about her Mattie

Thanks Hath, I'm feeling a bit better today got a fb message from her saying she arrived safely & has met up with others doing tefal with her. She has a week in Busan before moving on to where she will be based for the year. I just needed to hear that she arrived safely after the plane crash at our local airport last week, we were all a bit more anxious than normal Mattie

It was a different Christmas for us this year as it was the first time in 27 years that hubby & I were on our own but we did get to skype the girls on Christmas Eve & St. Stephen's Day to say our Happy Christmas in person and have a nice long chat with them. We spent Christmas Day with the rest of our extended family, don't even know what time we got home Christmas night Good news though!!! our eldest is coming home for a holiday in Jan after 1 1/2 years away ;D and there is a possibility that the youngest may visit in Feb \0/ We have also booked holidays for May and are flying to Korea to visit them ;D ;D ;D 2012 is looking good Mattie

Our eldest daughter arrived home last night and will be staying for 2 weeks. It is so great to have her home even if it is only for a little while. We ended up talking last night until 2am!!! ;D ;D I must have hugged her dozens of times last night, I was so happy to see her!!!

Our eldest has returned to Korea, I miss her lots but it was fantastic to have her here for a little while & to meet all her friends again, she had a party one night with all her friends. Now we're waiting on our youngest to come home on the 15th for 10 days (she's also in Korea). Can't wait for her to be home it'll be a year since she left, how time flies!!!

Glad you had a lot of fun while she was there. Do they at least live near each other in Korea?

Not really the eldest is in Seoul and the youngest is in Daegu about 3hrs away by bullet train. They do meet up some weekends, but the youngest has a boyfriend in Korea too & he is in another city called Busan about 2hrs from Daegu. They were all together for Christmas, but there are a lot of other English teachers there and they have made lots of friends. The youngest daughter has signed up for another year. The eldest probably won't resign she is struggling with the food as she is a veggie & the Koreans love their meat & fish. We are going out there for a visit in May :-)) can't wait.

I'm so glad you had such a great visit with the oldest, and hope you have the same with the youngest in a few days. My oldest only lives about 30 mins away from me but I only get to see her every few months for a few hours....our schedules just never seem to play together well...lol And my youngest still lives at home (she's only 16). I just can't imagine how bad it would be if the oldest lived in another country!!
Good luck, Mattie!!

;D ;D ;D ;D We are off to Korea this week to visit our daughters, can't wait ;D ;D ;D We are visiting Seoul & Daegu the 2 cities that our daughters live in. After visiting them we are going to do a small tour of China; well we are in the area and couldn't pass up the opportunity to explore!!!!! We probably wouldn't get another chance. I'll have my iPod which will help on the 11 hour flight eeeek We also have a 9 hour layover in Amsterdam on the way out so we're going to have a quick look around the Dutch capital. I'll miss my daily Jovi fix, but will have lots to catch up on when I get back in June. Mattie
