Has anyone else been dumb like me and gone through any of the comments? I swear, some of the "graphics" are clever, but posting them a dozen times in a row is a bit much. And the FIGHTING between the Jovi and Jackson camps!! Seriously? In any event, the Jovi is about 2 percentage points ahead (as of right now lol). Apparently MJ fans are too busy making "graphics" to vote

I didn't see the comments session, until someone mentioned on one website, asking for Bon Jovi fans to not get into any silly argument, or whatever. And man...Dumb fight all the way. Completely ignored them and went on voting, lol. Gotta keep my boys on top! And yea...That sounded naughty, didn't it? lol

The thing is, and yeah, it's bitchy of me to bring it up, but I don't buy the validity of a system where you can vote more than once. It should be one fan, one vote. At least that would be an accurate representation of what people think, not which music icon's fans have a few minutes here and there to spend voting.

I had to vote 5 times just to make it go up by one hundredth of a percentage point! Geez, I don't have that much spare time in a day....lol. And Jovi fans are ahead by less than a full percentage point right now.

The Jackson camp has pulled a head of the Bon Jovi camp. I guess MJ's fans don't have jobs.

The Jackson camp has pulled a head of the Bon Jovi camp. I guess MJ's fans don't have jobs. Or they're all using iMacro on Firefox

The Jackson camp has pulled a head of the Bon Jovi camp. I guess MJ's fans don't have jobs. My thoughts exactly, lol. I'm really sorry, but I don't have the time to vote a million times. Crappy voting system. A fair poll would require every fan to register and allow them to vote only once.

when I discovered this poll, BJ were at #4 with 4%, behind the bloody meat dress performance of Lady Gaga and Britney's dance with a snake, both with about 25%. and Michael was in the lead with 45%. my intention was to vote BJ to #2, because I never thought we could come so close to MJ. But then BJ got the lead for a day and after that this poll went out of control. The comments there became more and more nasty, then someone found that auto vote program (and I'm sure, both sides are using it). So since BJ are #2 my goal was reached and I have a real live and not the time to sit 24 hours on my computer and click like crazy. When MTV will set up a new poll with clear and fair rules (only one vote per day and per IP address and with a captcha) I'll be happy to vote for my favorite band again.

I know -- I kinda wish I had that kind of time -- not that I'd spend it voting in that poll, but still, it'd be nice not to have to be at work, or doing laundry or cooking/cleaning, etc.
And the comments -- wow. I can't believe how nasty people were getting over something as MEANINGLESS as this fake award thing. I even MORE can't believe that Bon Jovi is validating the stupid thing by sending out emails to whoever signed up for updates thru their website asking people to vote. Like they care....NOT!
I'll be glad when it's 12:01EDT tomorrow.

Ok what is an auto vote program? I agree 1 vote per day per ip address would be a more balanced voting method.

Ok what is an auto vote program? . it's a software which created a macro, so it was voting automatically. and you can run your errands in the meanwhile. And what I read at the comments, there was another program, what added a huge of votes per hour

I posted the following comment over there....not sure if anyone will heed my advice tho....
Here's the thing...I'm a fan, but I'm not going to tell you of whom, because I don't want that to cause you to form a bias about what I'm about to say.
This is a ton of BS. That's right....you heard me.
This method of voting doesn't prove ANYTHIING except who has the more determined, computer savvy fans. It doesn't prove who had the most iconic performance.
Let's face it, all of those performances listed above were iconic in their own way and for different reasons.
No one could (or ever will again) move like Michael (I find it rather telling that no one mentions the performance by guitar legend SLASH when talking about this performance). Michael's performance showed everyone that he was at the top of his game. His dance moves started a whole revolution of it's own, inspiring artists like Usher (and others).
The performance by Bon Jovi was actually only by two of it's members...Jon Bon Jovi and Richie Sambora (although Arsenio mispronounced his name). It was a simple performance of some of their biggest hits on two accoustic guitars (the way the songs were written) and their performance inspired a whole new series on MTV...Unplugged.
Who's to say which of these was a more iconic performance? Certainly not me, because I'm afraid that my vote is biased by my fanship.
But I can say that this argument between the fans of both Michael and Bon Jovi is an embarrassment to not only the artists but also the more adult of their fans. And, I can say that this is hardly a fair and scientific way to conduct a poll. The results of this poll will prove nothing except that as with many other things...the internet can make children out of anyone.
and that's the truth!
