...and I'm not sure what to think.
First of all, in just the ten minutes or so that I've spent reading it so far, I've found several printing error, typos - at least I hope that 'Southside Johnny and the Asbury Dukes' was just a typo - and some factual errors as well. He's got Daughtry opening for all of the Toronto shows, but Hedley opened for the two in December.
Aside from that...well, he has an interesting take on the music. He says that their most creative and exciting period is 1984-1988 and that Lost Highway their worst album. He calls it boring and uneventful, a dull mid-paced country-pop effort, at best a failed experiment.
He says that, while the others have pretty much stayed the same, Jon has changed his image so many times over the years that it's obvious that he keeps trying to reinvent himself to keep up with the times. That he wants to be taken seriously and dressing up like a rock star is not part of the plan and he wonders why since it works for Steven Tyler and Keith Richards.
In his credits he thanks Bon Jovi fan Julia Braun...anyone know her?
Hmpf! I just read the blurb about the Destination Anywhere film.....and he obviously has never seen it.....or he's missed the whole point of it!
Anyone else seen this book yet?

I flipped through it at my local Barnes Noble. Glad I didn't shell out the $20 bucks for it now. I'll wait til it's on the bargain book table...

Nothing irks me more than bad editing in a published work. REAL publishing, not what I do and screw up on a monthly basis lol. If you're expecting people to pay for somthing, and something you're touting as the end-all, be-all source for information, it has to be right. Otherwise there goes the credibility. *sigh* Don't people get it? I'm with Q; hub was going to get it for my bday this fall; will wait until it's in the bargain bucket.
Thanks for the warning!!

I wouldn't recommend the book at $20. I found a copy for $7 and that was steep for readily available info but it is a fun read. I learned a few things that I didn't know but most information is on the web. The mistakes are irritating but then the information on the web isn't always correct either. If you are an avid Jovi collector, it is worth it but maybe better at a cheaper price.
