Daughtry's touring the new record (mini club tour). One stop is Foxboro, literally 20 minutes from my house.
Mr. Hath gave the thumbs up (at least it isn't Bon Jovi) and tix go on sale July 11. I'm trying like hell. The place only seats about 1000 or so, so it ought to be a great intimte show.
The show is August 4. Any interest?
AAAAH!

If you get close enough to rub his head, rub it once for me too! Hope you get tickets. If I lived closer, I'd jump at the chance to go with you. They'd better come around here dammit!

I've seen Daughtry last year here in Germany when they did a little club tour. and the venue in Berlin was soo small, only 600 people. It was a great show. And I hope they will come back for more shows with the new album

$20? Wow,thats a bargain! I'm still debating whether to try for tickets and come over, but flights are quite expensive as it's the school holidays. Grrr. Have fun Hath! Get some great pics

OK, so I've been tweeting and emailing about being excited that Daughtry's gonna be in my neck of the woods on August 4th, and today tickets went on sale at 10:00 EDT.
Within 15 seconds (that's how long it took me to type in the two verification words and click "enter") all the tickets were gone.
10 seconds after that (that's as long as it took me to go to StubHub) there were hundreds of tickets on sale on that site, from $89 to $400!
The tickets on TicketMaster were $20.
I have to say I'm extremely disappointed. Pissed is more like it.
Why can't the artists control how their tickets are sold? If they can't maintain these controls through TicketMaster, why aren't they fighting it? No matter how they get their tickets out there, they'd sell!
I say go back to the days when you had to go to the venue and wait at the box office to get your tickets.
It would exclude the out-of-town fans from a lot of shows, but at least would be more fair. If you really wanted to go to the show, you'd find a way to get there or have a friend get tix.
I've sent messages to Chris Daughtry on his website and Tweeted him too.
I know nothing will come of it, but I had to say something.

Wow! That sucks! I'm glad we don't have something like that here in Germany. I would probably never get Bon Jovi tickets again! I bought my last tour tickets online, but I could also get some at different places that are doing pre-sale

but it seems, here in GER eventim and TM will have the monopol soon. So I'm afraid we'll have the same situation in the future

While I agree most of the blame falls on TicketMaster and their practices, the band (any band who uses TidketMaster, not just this one) cannot be held totally blameless. They are fully aware of the policies and procedures these sellers have in place, yet continue to patronize them. I am NOT saying that Chris and the guys are directly to blame, but rather that the Daughtry Machine, which includes all the marketing and promotions people, is. Who is ultimately in charge of what happens to and with this band? Think about it; that's all I'm saying.
I see comments from people on other sites that say "they have no choice; TicketMaster is really the only game in town." There's always a choice.
They have the option of selling tickets however they want. They could choose to sell them through the website like they do their music, for example. They could choose to arrange to sell them at the box office. They (the music industry) can choose to put their heads together and come up with an entirely different system. Across the entire music industry, there are some extremely brilliant technical people -- surely they can come together and make this better?
That "they" continue to let TM do this to their fans, and yes, I said "let", is reprehensible. In the current time, at least here in the US, people are watching what they spend more than ever. That the fans made the decision to spend the money to see a band's show shows the depth of their loyalty and love of the music.
Don't take advantage of that.

That really sucks! Things like that never used to happen. These ticket agencies are getting really greedy.
While I agree that the crap going on is horrible and they need to find another way to sell tickets, I don't agree with going back to selling them from the venue. I would never get to go to another concert if that was the case.
If enough artists - especially big selling ones - got together and complained and refused to sell through TM, etc....maybe formed their own ticket selling agency, then I think you would see changes.
If my memory serves, there's a case before the courts here now about TicketMaster and it's resale arm pulling stunts like this. I'll have to keep my ears open and see what happens.

Hath, I have to agree with you. TM is too much of a monopoly we need better alternatives.

It's not just TM. From what I've read around different sites (so I take with a whole shaker of salt, not just a grain) the bands are providing tickets to these resellers, or letting them purchase from TM a minute or so before the general public.
Generally sucky practice.
The new album still rocks though.

Yeah, I'm digging the record, too. Wish I could have gone to the show; may have to go to CBS Scene for dinner and hang out in the lot outside the venue to at least hear the show lol
