JOANN LOVIGLIO
The Associated Press
Rock star Jon Bon Jovi is teaming up with two Philadelphia homeless advocacy groups to build an environmentally friendly housing facility for 79 men and women.
The groups Project HOME and Bethesda Project are working in partnership for the first time on the project. It's going to be called St. John the Evangelist House.
Bon Jovi is helping to build affordable housing in Philadelphia, New Orleans and his home state of New Jersey through his Philadelphia Soul Foundation.

Here's some more about it....with a picture. (Rock star Jon Bon Jovi is flanked by Cardinal Justin Rigali and Sister Mary Scullion of "Project Home" at Wednesday's announcement.) Posted: Wednesday, 08 July 2009 3:35PM Bon Jovi Backs New Homeless Shelter for Center City by KYW's John McDevitt A famous rock star from our area is lending a hand to help shelter the homeless in Philadelphia. Rock legend and homeless advocate Jon Bon Jovi is participating in a venture to build an eight-story facility to provide affordable single-unit housing for 79 men and women who want to transition from homelessness to independence: "I understand to address homelessness and poverty we must come together and look for meaningful solutions. Improving the lives of Philadelphia's most vulnerable citizens improves the lives of all of its citizens." The facility will be built on the site of an unused building of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, near 13th and Market Streets. The new building will be environmentally friendly, including a "green" roof, highly insulated walls, and a rainwater collection system. And seventy-five percent of the demolition materials will be recycled. The shelter is set to open by the end of next year. Ok, so the grey and blue is his new favorite outfit? Don't get me wrong it looks great, but how about some changes here and then....it's not like he couldn't afford it.

What is this 3 times now in the past few weeks? Maybe that's the only thing that's packed in his suitcase that's ready to go. I recall an interview he did during the TD time where he said he only travels with 2 pair of pants and 2 shirts. That aside, I'm glad the Soul Foundation is still active and supporting the communities even though they are "suspended" for the time being.

Yeah, I remebered that interview too, but wasn't he at home in between? I think it's typical male....I like this new jeans, I'll wear it till the holes are so big it's no longer possible...lol And I'm very happy that the Soul Foundation is teaming up with our organizations to help the communities.
