Apparently the category is for new RECORDINGS, not new SONGS. The version of the H&O song up for award is from a live album released this year.

SANTA MONICA, Calif.--(EON: Enhanced Online News)--For the first time ever, current GRAMMY® Award nominee Bon Jovi will perform on the GRAMMY telecast and participate in a special interactive fan vote on the 52nd Annual GRAMMY Awards. As part of the band's performance, fans will have an opportunity to decide which Bon Jovi hit the band will perform during their segment. The music industry's premier event will take place live on Sunday, Jan. 31, at STAPLES Center in Los Angeles and will be broadcast in HDTV and 5.1 Surround Sound on the CBS Television Network from 8 – 11:30 p.m. (ET/PT). The show also will be supported on radio via Westwood One worldwide, and covered online at GRAMMY.com and CBS.com, and on YouTube at www.youtube.com/thegrammys. Beginning this week, viewers can log on to www.cbs.com/grammys and vote for one out of six of their favorite hit Bon Jovi songs:

1. "Always"
2. "Bed Of Roses"
3. "Have A Nice Day"
4. "It's My Life"
5. "Livin' On A Prayer"
6. "Wanted Dead Or Alive."

There is no registration to vote, and fans may vote as often as they wish. Additionally, a 30-second clip of each song may be viewed. The deadline to vote is Sunday, Jan. 24, 11:59 p.m. ET. On Jan. 25 the list will be narrowed down to the top three songs and fans may continue voting at www.cbs.com/grammys for which hit song the band should perform as part of their segment. Voting will continue until Bon Jovi's performance on the 52nd Annual GRAMMY Awards on Jan. 31.

I can't believe that Jon actually agreed to perform...considering what he's said about the critics in the past.

So very PC Liz... great idea but, like T, I voted for Always. I don't think I've ever heard it live before. Every show I've been to they've done BOR.

But there is only one thing wrong with it!!!!
It says it was from June 2008 in Dublin!! the concert was in Punchestown which is near Dublin but in a different County. Punchestown is in Co. Kildare. It's like saying the concert was in NY when it was in NJ !!!!!
That was a brilliant concert it was the only day that year that the sun shone & we had clear blue skies all day, I had a great day with my daughters. ;D ;D

Give us a little intel on the tribute to Bon Jovi.
The fans are voting for one of three songs on CBS.com (that Bon Jovi will perform; they are “Livin on a Prayer,” “It’s My Life,” and “Always”). He won’t know which song that won until 30 seconds before he finishes the second song and then boom, he’s on it. He’ll do “We Weren’t Born to Follow,” and then Jennifer Nettles will come on and join him, and then he’ll go into one of three songs.
